How does the product-aware message work?
When a shopper taps the chat button on a product page, Chatlane prefills the message with the product name, the selected variant, the price and a link to the page. You know exactly what they are asking about before you reply.
Which messaging channels does Chatlane support?
WhatsApp, SMS, phone, email, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and Telegram. The Free plan includes any 2 channels. Pro unlocks all 7 in one button.
Will Chatlane slow down my store?
No. The button script is under 5 KB, loads with your theme from Shopify’s CDN, uses your theme’s fonts and makes zero network requests until a shopper taps it.
What permissions does Chatlane ask for?
None. Chatlane requests no Shopify API permissions at install, so it cannot read your orders, customers or products.
Does Chatlane store my shoppers’ personal data?
No. Chatlane stores only daily tap counts by channel, page type and device. It never stores shopper names, phone numbers, IP addresses or message content.
How long does setup take?
About a minute. Install the app, add your WhatsApp number or another channel, then turn on the Chatlane app embed in your theme editor and save.
What happens when a shopper is on a desktop computer?
